Laws and procedures must evolve for more justice

Dear friends,

As you may know, the Swiss people are called to the polls on 29 November. They will vote on an initiative that would make it compulsory for multinationals to uphold human rights, including in their activities abroad. The existing Swiss legal framework contains too many grey areas from which unscrupulous companies take advantage. TRIAL International is well placed to know this, as it has repeatedly denounced the dubious actions of large companies in its fight against impunity.

Holding all actors accountable is also our fight in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). There, it is the execution of reparation measures in favor of victims which systematically stalls. Long-term advocacy efforts were initiated by TRIAL International and its partners.

Other news from the field? In Nepal, our local partner was lucky enough to conduct an in-person training a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, the relaxation of anti-pandemic measures did not last...

Finally, we are looking for talents to join our fight against impunity. Don’t hesitate to consult our job offers!

As usual, we thank you for your support and wish you a pleasant read,

The TRIAL International team
